The final spurt towards UEFA EURO 2024: On May 16, 2024, "EURO Legends Stuttgart" opened at the StadtPalais – Museum für Stuttgart. The exhibition was developed in cooperation with the host city Stuttgart and is dedicated to the seven nations that will be competing in our city: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Scotland, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

Dr. Torben Giese, Director of the StadtPalais – Museum für Stuttgart, and Dr. Fabian Mayer, Lord Mayor of the City of Stuttgart, were joined by Prof. Dr. Wolfram Pyta from the University of Stuttgart to welcome guests and get them excited for the exhibition and the tournament. Afterward, exhibition director Dr. Yannick Nordwald hosted a fascinating sports discussion with Elisabeth Seitz and Cacau, ambassadors for our host city. A choir from Musikwerk Stuttgart provided the perfect musical backdrop, getting guests in the mood for UEFA EURO 2024 with rousing "fan chants".

The most exciting stories in the history of the championship

Visitors to the exhibition can relive the championship’s most legendary moments, from the 89th minute of the 1980 European Championship final, when Horst Hrubesch headed Germany to the title in Rome, to the unexpected victory by the Danes in the 1992 European Championship, to the dramatic "brotherly duel" between Slovenia and Yugoslavia in 2000 – all replayed on screen, and some with their original commentary. Visitors can also hear numerous fascinating stories about events off the pitch, before trying out their own dribbling and shooting skills in an interactive exhibit that’s sure to appeal to younger soccer fans in particular.

"EURO Legends Stuttgart" runs until July 14, 2024. Useful info: All exhibition texts are available in German and English.
