UEFA EURO 2024

1600 volunteers turn

thewhole city into a stadium

In the thick of it instead of simply being there: Host City Stuttgart will be supported by 1600 volunteers to make UEFA EURO 2024 an unforgettable festival of football. By taking part, every volunteer has the unique opportunity to meet football fans from all over the world and act as an ambassador for Host City Stuttgart. The highly motivated volunteers play an important role in ensuring that the metropolis on the Neckar river presents itself as a colourful, cosmopolitan and friendly venue and that the whole city becomes a stadium.

Exciting tasks for volunteers in Stuttgart at UEFA EURO 2024

Tournament Director Philipp Lahm emphasises that: "Volunteering is the foundation of the EURO. We are delighted with the help of the volunteers, who not only make the EURO a success, but are also perceived as friendly, committed hosts. These people are the face of EURO 2024."

The responsibilities of the volunteers are as diverse, exciting and varied as UEFA EURO 2024 itself. The volunteers are integral to one of the world's most important sporting events and gain unique insights behind the scenes of this major event. The volunteers are active around the Stuttgart Arena, in the media centre and in the FAN ZONES. Outside the stadium, volunteers are also on hand at Stuttgart's main railway station and airport to welcome international visitors to UEFA EURO 2024. One highlight in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg will certainly be the appearance of the German national team in the Stuttgart Arena on 19 June 2024. A total of five UEFA EURO 2024 matches will be held in Stuttgart.

The volunteers will ensure a unique welcoming culture

From the Host City's perspective, the Volunteer Programme is the centrepiece for contact and exchange with visitors from a wide variety of nations. With their presence and willingness to help, the volunteers will create a unique welcoming culture and shape a lasting positive image of Stuttgart and its people – and of course have a great and unforgettable time at the European Championships themselves.

The sense of community, the team spirit and the necessary expertise were conveyed to the volunteers on location with training and briefings. This ensures that every volunteer is familiar with their responsibilities and perfectly prepared to carry them out. True to the motto: The crucial work happens off the pitch!

Huge response to nationwide Volunteer Programme

For the first time in the history of the European Football Championship, a joint Volunteer Programme has been set up for all ten host cities for the 51 matches of UEFA EURO 2024. A total of 16,000 volunteers will be deployed. Interest in Germany was huge from day one: more than 30,000 applications were received in the first two weeks alone.
